Meet Fascia Academy at Therapy Show Birmingham

Follow the tissue from the foot to the knee to the hip, and it’s one continuous structure. Yet almost everything about how we’re trained to understand the body is built on separate parts.

In this 30-minute session, Axel Bohlin draws on more than 5,000 fascia research articles, 200 hours of conversations with researchers such as Jean-Claude Guimberteau and Gerald Pollack, and more than 100,000 treatments in Sweden. He shows why the body is better understood as flow and pressure than as separate structures – and why theoretical and experiential knowledge need to work together in the treatment room.

You’ll leave with simple principles you can use from your next customer onwards: see the whole before the detail, start with posture and balance, and change the conversation with every person on the table.

Most therapists don’t fail because they lack knowledge or ambition. They work alone, they’re not fully respected and they’re not paid what they deserve.

The week starts in London with Fascia Base Treatment on 22–24 November. Then we come to Birmingham for Therapy Show on 25–26 November, before heading back to London for Introduction to Fascia on 27 November.
